When you’re a famous celebrity or athlete, a few things come easy to you – especially cars. We’ve got several celebrities and athletes who are known to own some of the world’s most expensive cars: there’s Steven Tyler with his Hennessey Venom GT Spyder, and then there’s Kim Kardashian’s $187,000 Ferrari F430, Nicolas Cage’s Ferrari Enzo, and David Beckham’s $407,000 Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead.
It seems like money does come easy for these people who have gigs and paid endorsements, particularly more so for popular athletes so it’s no surprise that they are able to buy the vehicles that most of us could only afford to see in pictures.
However, there will always be unforeseen circumstances that will happen even when you’re a celebrity, athlete, a famous businessman, a politician or an ordinary person and road accidents are one of those circumstances. In 2008, famous football (or soccer, as what it is called in the U.S.) player Cristiano Ronaldo, lost control of his brand-new Ferrari 599 GTB while cruising along a dark tunnel. The left side of the car was in total wreck – its left wheel gone and hood in a total mess. But since the vehicle was a Cristiano Ronaldo car, the wreckage never stopped it from attracting buyers on eBay France. The car was up for grabs for €50,000 with only 1,800 miles on the clock.
Recently, Ronaldo was seen in yet another sports car mishap courtesy of his newest promotional video with Nike. Or was it really him? Hold your horses and keep calm, car enthusiasts as we explain to you what really happened.

In a new video from Nike Football’s YouTube page, Cristiano Ronaldo switches life with a young fan after he collides with him during one of his football matches. The boy gets to live as the world famous football superstar – waking up in a mansion and getting to drive the superstar’s Pagani Huayra.
Unfortunately, the boy inside Ronaldo’s body has yet to learn how to drive so he ends up wrecking the Huayra on his way to football practice. Several car enthusiasts might’ve cringed at the sight of the wrecked sports car and hearts must’ve shattered at its destruction but fret not. We assure you that no Pagani Huayra was harmed during the shoot (or at least that’s what they’re saying), so we hope that gives enthusiasts some relief.
It’s not everyday that you get to switch lives with your favorite celeb or athlete, so you got to make the most out of it. Nike’s newest advertisement has also showed us that success doesn’t just come at a snap of a finger or in this case, a collision with your idol, but it happens when you strive hard and work hard for your dreams.
