Top 5 HyperCrashes: Things That Make You Go ‘Ohh. Ouch.’

What do the Ferrari LaFerrari, Porsche 918 Spyder, the McLaren P1, the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport and the Pagani Huayra have in common?

Aside from prices that have zeros far too many than our bank accounts can ever have, these five hypercars were featured by supercar owner and enthusiast Salomondrin’s YouTube channel in his video “Hyper 5”.

And now, to pay tribute to Salomondrin’s “Hyper 5”, we bring you a list of the worst crashes that have ever happened to these five hypercars. But be warned, this is not for the faint-hearted hypercar lover.

10. Ferrari LaFerrari Budapest Crash

The setting for our first hypercrash (pun intended) is in one of the largest cities in the European Union, Budapest. A quaint and quiet city, it must be surprising to hear that one of the worst hypercar crashes actually happened in this place.

Apparently, some nitro-loving, throttle happy driver just got down to his gas pedal and ended up running off the road smashing his LaFerrari.

There are only 499 of these $1.4 million hypercars ever made, and we’re not even sure if the said crushed LaFerrari was fixed after the accident.

However, what we know is that fixing a LaFerrari isn’t as cheap as fixing your good ol’ sedan. Our deepest sympathies to the owner of that LaFerrari.

9. Pagani Huayra Miami Crash

Another extremely rare hypercar that had its dose of a hypercrash is the Pagani Huayra. It would pain every car owner and/or enthusiast to know that one out of a hundred of these rare Pagani Huayras had a scratch while traversing the countryside, how much more get t-boned and have one of your wheels out?

Unfortunately, this happened to car collector Kris Singh in Miami when an Uber driver t-boned his Pagani Huayra and lost one of its front wheels in the process.

Kris Singh was unharmed but getting your rare hypercar down one wheel would totally piss off anyone. It’s depressing. I know.

8. Porsche 918 Spyder China Crash

Although not the rarest, with 918 of it running around in whatever country it’s registered right now, the Porsche 918 Spyder is still one of the best hypercars ever made. No matter how awesome this hypercar is, the Porsche 918 Spyder never got to avoid getting into our hypercrash list.

And stupid as it may sound, the accident happened to a woman who claimed that she had mistaken the gas pedal for the brake. I mean, what!? Give me a break. Her reason will leave us all flabbergasted but believe me, this really happened in Shanghai.

Luckily, no one got hurt except for an innocent tree on the side walk. Poor tree. On the other side of the world, another Porsche 918 Spyder burnt to death in Toronto, Canada. Shout out from the other side!

7. McLaren P1 Washington DC Crash

Another car on our rare list and obviously earning a spot in our hypercrash list is the McLauren P1 owned by Sultan Bin Rashed Al Nahyan who currently resides in the Washington DC area. Actually, it was not the sultan who was driving the car when the crash happened but a buddy of his who borrowed it.

That friend was probably one of his closest so he willingly lent the car not knowing of the disaster that lies ahead. This buddy apparently ended up wrecking the sultan’s McLauren P1 after going through a stop sign and getting t-boned by a Honda Pilot.

We don’t know if it was “friendship over” for these two but what really matters now is that the sultan has assured us that his P1 will be good as new in a month or so.

6. Bugatti Veyron Graz Crash

Last on our list of hypercrashes is an incident outside the city of Graz, Austria. The car we’re talking about is not exactly a Bugatti Veyron Super Sport but a Veyron nonetheless. It is reported that the driver had lost control of his Veyron and ran into a guardrail falling 40 feet into the ground.

A miracle of some sort, the driver was luckily unharmed but his Veyron had it bad. Now, shout out to the guy who drove his Veyron straight into a Texas lake! You’re the man!
