Team Honda Muscle Milk Retro Style at A2

Team Honda Muscle Milk will help celebrate the AMA Supercross Series’ 40th anniversary at Angel Stadium this Saturday, with a throwback bike design replicating the kind of machine ridden by past Honda Champions Donnie Hanson, David Bailey, Johnny O’Mara and Rick Johnson. With a red frame and retro graphics, this 1980’s inspired bike is sure to turn heads in the pits. Also on display under the Honda tent will be Donnie Hanson’s Championship 1982 RC250R—the first of many Supercross championships won by Honda —and Johnny O’Mara’s 1986 Motocross des Nations CR125R. Fans should plan to stop by the Team Honda Muscle Milk rig to check out the retro team bikes as well as the championship-winning machines.

It was Californian Marty Smith taking the first-ever Anaheim Supercross race win on a Honda in 1976. Since then, American Honda Racing has claimed a total of 15 premier class Championships, the most of any other manufacturer. All eight Honda champions will be in attendance at Saturday’s celebration, and will be presented with a commemorative helmet before being introduced during opening ceremonies.
